Our story

Stride Development Association started in February 2010 with a team of 13 people who were working with different organizations within Kasese district among them, Bakwanye Trading. Co. Ltd employed the majority number. The purpose of the organization was to empower the members economically and this could only be achieved through implementing the core organizational programs that include a savings and credit scheme, Agriculture support and marketing and education and health support.

These core programs would not be started at once because of limited resources; thus Stride Development Sacco was started to work as the hand that feeds the association. The Sacco commenced operations on the 1st March 2010 with 13 members who pooled resources and the first loan was disbursed on the same day. Stride Development Sacco celebrated 14 years of existence on the 1st of March 2024 with many roses to it.

Due to limited resources, the other core programs including Agriculture support and marketing and education and health support still remain on paper as dreams yet to be visualized.
